Approximately 700 residents currently occupy the Town of Westlake’s 6.6 square miles in the northern triangle of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The estimated median home value is over $1 million with affluent neighborhood communities ranging from smaller enclaves including several gated neighborhoods, to the 333 home Vaquero, a guarded and gated community surrounding its world-class Tom Fazio golf course. In 2003, the town raised bond funds to build the Westlake Academy, an open-enrollment charter school owned and operated by the town. The town is also served by three independent school districts-- Keller Independent School District (Recognized), Carroll Independent School District (Exemplary) and Northwest Independent School District (Recognized).


The community's top employers are Fidelity Investments. CoreLogic & First American and TD Auto (Formerly Chrysler Financial). Several companies have offices in Solana, a high-profile corporate campus along State Highway 114 adjacent to Westlake’s northern border. Solana's Village Circle also provides a mix of retail spaces and restaurants, plus the 294-room Marriott Solana hotel. Top level shopping is nearby at Grapevine Mills Mall, North East Mall and Southlake Town Center.
